The Royal Flush first aired on Christmas day in 1986. In the episode, Rodney meets Vicky on the market. Vicky soon reveals herself to be Lady Victoria Marsham Hales. The daughter of the current Duke of Maylebury.
Rodney enjoys becoming friends with Vicky, enjoying their shared interest in the arts. He sees their relationship as nothing more than friends. Del however, realizing Lady Victoria comes from money, has other ideas.
Theatre Royal Royal, Drury Lane, London
Firstly, The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in Covent Garden was used for the exterior shots of the theatre scenes in the episode.
Gentleman Country Clothes Shop
Secondly, in the episode, Del and Uncle Albert take Rodney to get fitted out for his trip to the country to visit the home of Lady Victoria. A clothing outfitting shop on New Canal, Salisbury was used for this part of the episode. Currently, the shop is called ‘Repertoire’. Noticeable by its arched door and windows.
Lady Victoria & The Duke of Maylebury’s Residence, Berkshire
You can just about make out The Maylebury residence in the background of the shooting party. This main House, Clarendon Park, Wiltshire, doubled as the Maylebury residence.
Lady Victoria Marsham Hales
Sarah Duncan is the actress who played Lady Victoria Marsham Hales. These days she is a well-renowned author. (Check out her website).
Sarah no longer acts but if you are lucky enough you may see her at a future Only Fools and Horses Convention. Here she is back in 2014.
