Following a 16 break, Birds of a Feather was revived by ITV for a futher three series between 2014 – 2016, along with Christmas Specials in 2017 and 2020. The rivial also stared Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph as the leading characters, Sharon, Tracey and Dorian. Whilst the sitcom is still set it the suburbs of Chigwell, there were some different filming locations used compared to the original BBC locations.
Dalentrace
Whilst Darrell is no longer on the scene, the house still carries the name Dalentrace in the ITV revival. The house used in the ITV revival, similar to the original Dalentrace was not actually located in Chigwell. Both the original Dalentrace and that used in the revival are both located in Gerrards Cross. With the house from the revival located on Daleside as shown below.
Sharon’s Edmonton Flat
In the first episode we see Sharon and Tracey go back to Sharon’s flat in Edmonton. These scenes were filmed at the former Charles Hocking House, Acton London W3 8SJ. Unfortunately, this has now been demolished as part of the Acton Gardens redevelopment. The below aerial shows the old tower block, which also appeared in Steptoe and Son, and the rough location of Sharon’s flat.
World of Quid
Sharon is working at World of Quid in Series 1 when Dorian becomes her unexpected Store Manager.
The shop used for filming World of Quid was called Dilton’s at the time of filming and was a pound shop. In 2018 however it became Northwest Supermarket, and remains as this today.

Series 1 (10) Episode 1 – Gimme Shelter
After not speaking for 6 months, Sharon and Tracy bump into each other at the start of this episode while queuing for a book signing with the author of 60 Shades of Green, Foxy Cohen. Foxy turns out to be just an alias and the real author is the one and only Dorian Green.
The bookshop used for filming the book signing was The Pitshanger Bookshop, 141 Pitshanger Ln, London W5 1RH
Series 1 (10) Episode 2 – Slave
Dorian has moved in with Sharon and Tracey and agreed to pay £500 a week for the privilege. Unfortunately for Dorian most of her money has been frozen by the copyright court case and the money she is allowed has been isolated by her lawyer as a retainer for their work. With bills to pay, Sharon and Tracey give Dorian some gentle assistance to sell some of her outfits at a local car boot sale.
The car boot sales were filmed at Denham Car Boot Sale. The screenshot above shows Tracey driving into the entrance to Denham Car Boot Sale via the Old Mill Road Entrance.
Series 1 (10) Episode 3 – Hearts For Sale – Stubbie’s Aussie Barbie Pub
Garth is back from Australia and has set up his own restaurant, ‘Stubbies Aussie Barbie Pub’. The exterior scenes for this location were filmed at Riverside Gardens.
Series 1 (10) Episode 5 – Tattoo You
Tracey has just secured a big bathroom sale with a bulky bit of commission. Having left the bathroom showroom, Tracey visits the shop opposite to get some Botox. These scenes were filmed on All Saints Road, London.
Series 1 (10) Episode 8 – Forever Young
In this episode Dorian finally gets justice from the courts having proved she can’t have stolen copyright for 60 Shades of Green as all her encounters actually happened.
Both the court scenes and the hotel scenes were filmed at the same building, just at different entrances. Both were filmed at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames.
Series 2 (11) Episode 8 – Spa Wars
Tracey and Sharon commandeer Garth’s motorcycle and take it for a spin. Not wanting to feel left out Dorian joins them on a pushbike. Luckily for her the speed Tracey is going, it not too challenging to keep up with.
These scenes were filmed on Court Drive, Uxbridge. The image above shows the cast going down Court Drive, just passing the entrance to Abingdon Close.
Series 3 (12) Episode 1 – Knocking on Heaven’s Door
In this episode Sharon, Tracey and Dorian attend Daryl’s funeral at the St Wilfred’s Church in Chigwell. The church used however for filming is not St Wilfred’s Church in Chigwell as if you have looked up the church in Chigwell you will see it is vastly different.
The actual church used for filming the episode was the Parish Church of St Mary The Virgin in Essendon, Hertfordshire. The signs were simply covered over to double as St Wilfred’s Church.
Christmas Special 2020 – We Gotta Get Out of This Place
Dorian, frustrated with the restrictions of lockdown meets up with her man of the moment, Graeme, played by Les Dennis. Looking for a romantic weekend away from Tracey’s glare for not being more careful due to Covid, Dorian and Graeme head for a posh hotel.
The hotel scenes featuring Dorian and Graeme were filmed at Sopwell House, St Albans. A luxury hotel and spa.
