If you are an Emmerdale fan, thanks to the power of Google you can take a virtual walk around Emmerdale. If you are not familiar with Google Street view, simply click on the arrows on the road below to take a walk down the street. (Or turn around to walk up to the vets)
Emmerdale Set, Harewood Estate
Where is Emmerdale filmed?
When Emmerdale first aired external filming took place in the village of Arncliffe in North Yorkshire. However, this was changed to Esholt in West Yorkshire in 1976 to help with logistics.
After 22 years of filming at Esholt, residents were frustrated by the constant presence of production crews and tourists. A purpose-built replica of the village was built at Harewood Estate as shown above. The replica kept the iconic features but incorporated some changes to aid production. The replica village at Harewood Estate has been used for filming since 1998. You can take a virtual walk through the original village below.
Physical Set Tour
If a virtual tour has wet your appetite you can also go on a physical tour of the external Emmerdale set.
