London’s Burning was a British television drama that centred on the Blue Watch at Blackwall Fire station. The show originally ran between 1988 and 2002 and followed Blue Watch on duty as well as following their out of work lives.
Blackwall Fire Station Location
The main filming location for London’s Burning was Dockhead Fire Station which doubled as Blackwall Fire Station throughout the series.
Dockhead Fire station was originally built in 1928. The Street view below shows that station largely as it was at the time of filming
In 2015 the station was demolished and rebuilt on the same footprint as shown in the street view below. The station reopened in 2016. You can find out more about the history of the station here.
End Of Series 4 – Factory Fire
The large 2 pumper factory fire which largely dominates the last two episodes of the series (Episodes 9 and 1), was filmed at the old English Chicory Factory in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
