Cash and Curry is the third episode in series 1. In the episode it sees Del sell his Vauxhall Velox to help him raise £2000 to pull off a con trick. However, in the end, it is Del and Rodney who end up being tricked. Here we look at some of the Only Fools and Horses Cash and Curry Filming Locations.
Dinner and Dance
Firstly, at the start of the episode, Rodney arrives to fetch Del from a Dinner and Dance evening. Del has met a new acquaintance, Vimmal Malik. Too drunk to drive home, Del phones Rodney to drive him in his impressive Vauxhall Velox. In this scene we are also introduced to Mr Ram.
Hanwell Community Centre was used for these scenes. Not a whole lot has changed and the location is very noticeable in the episode.
Vimmal Malik’s Flat
In the episode we see Del visit Vimmal at his flat to buy and collect the statue of the Hindu God Kubera.
Somerset Road, Edgware London was used as the location of Vimmal’s flat. Furthermore, in the shot below you can even see the steps Del Boy falls down with the statue.
Goodbye Vauxhall Velox
In order to raise the £2000 to buy the statue of the Hindu God Kubera from Vimmal, Del has to sell many of his possessions to raise the cash. This includes his beloved Vauxhall Velox. In this scene below we see Del sell his car to a car garage.
The car garage used for these scenes is now an ‘enterprice’ car rental dealership as shown below.
